Problems with your alarm ?

15. What is RedCARE  ?

RedCARE offers the most secure form of alarm signalling available. The service continuously checks that your alarm panel can communicate with the Alarm Receiving Centre (ARC). It does this by monitoring the BT telephone line that links a professionally installed alarm system in your premises to the ARC, every second of every day.

Unlike other monitored systems RedCARE detects any problem, such as malicious line cutting, that might stop the alarm panel communicating with the ARC.

 How it works

The RedCARE system works by using your existing BT telephone line to signal messages to your designated Alarm Monitoring Centre which in  turn notifies the appropriate authorities - police or fire service, or keyholder. The signals are able to reach the Alarm Monitoring Centre within seconds, ensuring a fast response to your alarm activation.

As RedCARE does not use a telephone dialling method to convey  messages to the Alarm Monitoring Centre, no call charges are incurred, even for setting and unsetting the system when entering or leaving the premises.

To set it up a Subscribers Terminal Unit (STU) is installed in your alarm panel and your alarm system is then wired to the RedCARE network.

Once we have installed your encoded STU your alarm system will start communicating with the RedCARE computers. There is a continuous  dialogue between the alarm panel and the RedCARE computers to ensure they are in a stable position.

If your system is tampered with, the RedCARE computers will ask the  alarm panel if this is so, and if the answer is yes an alarm is activated. The alarm will be acknowledged by the Alarm Monitoring Centre which in turn will respond according to the type of alarm signal received - whether it's a fire alarm, a personal attack, or an intruder.

In short, RedCARE offers a lot of important benefits:

No need for an extra telephone line
Continuous monitoring 24 hours a day
High speed alarm transmission in a matter of seconds
Signals transported even while the phone is in use
A network which is duplicated to ensure a high level of resilience
No additional call charges
No added re-programming costs, which may be necessary in areas affected by code changes?
Instant detection if your phone line has been cut or damaged
Immunity from radio interference
RedCARE is acknowledged and endorsed by insurers as the most secure method of alarm signalling in the world. .
